The Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun, has apprehended 51 individuals suspected of various criminal activities across the state. The arrests were made following a series of coordinated operations aimed at curbing rising insecurity in the region.

According to the State Commander of Amotekun, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, the suspects were detained for offenses ranging from kidnapping and armed robbery to cultism and vandalism. Notably, one of the individuals arrested was a 17-year-old boy accused of vandalizing electricity transformers. In a particularly alarming incident, a member of a gang involved in cable theft suffered severe burns when electricity was restored while they were cutting cables. He was subsequently arrested after being treated for his injuries.
Chief Adeleye emphasized that the majority of these arrests were made possible due to timely and accurate information provided by the public. He urged citizens to continue collaborating with security agencies to ensure the safety and security of the state.
The Amotekun Corps remains committed to its mission of safeguarding lives and properties in Ondo State. The arrested individuals are currently undergoing interrogation, and further investigations are underway to dismantle the criminal networks operating within the state.Attach
