FCT Doctors Suspend Strike, Set to Resume Monday

Doctors in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have announced the suspension of their ongoing strike, with plans to resume work on Monday. The decision follows successful negotiations with the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), which addressed several of the doctors’ concerns.

The strike, which had disrupted services in various hospitals across the FCT, was initiated to protest issues such as unpaid salaries, inadequate working conditions, and a shortage of medical staff. The Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) in the FCT had previously embarked on similar actions, citing neglect in the healthcare sector and the need for urgent reforms.

Following the suspension of the strike, ARD officials expressed cautious optimism, noting that while some demands had been met, others remain under discussion. The doctors emphasized the importance of continued dialogue to ensure sustainable improvements in the healthcare system.

The FCTA has committed to addressing the remaining issues, with plans for further meetings to finalize resolutions. The public is advised to stay informed about any updates regarding the situation.
