NCAA Blacklists K1 De Ultimate From Commercial Flights for Six Months

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has issued a six‑month ban prohibiting Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, from boarding any domestic flights following an altercation at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

What Exactly Happened

On Tuesday, August 6, K1 De Ultimate allegedly engaged in a confrontation with flight crew and airport security. Reports indicate he attempted to board a ValueJet flight carrying an unapproved alcoholic beverage in a flask. When officials requested inspection, he allegedly refused, choosing instead to continue drinking directly from the container—prompting a serious security breach.

NCAA’s Response

Michael Achimugu, the NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, clarified that this decisive action reflects aviation safety protocols:

“Let it be known—no one is above the law.”

The ban spans all Nigerian commercial flights and underscores the agency’s commitment to enforcing global safety standards irrespective of a passenger’s fame or connections.

Broader Implications

In addition to the flight ban, the NCAA is preparing formal notifications to the Attorney General and the Inspector General of Police to pursue potential legal charges stemming from the incident.

When asked about the possibility of leniency—given K1’s known proximity to the presidency—Achimugu firmly dismissed such notions: aviation laws apply equally to all.
