Presidency Hails Lafarge Africa’s ₦133bn Q2 Profit, Credits Economic Impact

The Nigerian presidency has commended Lafarge Africa Plc for its impressive financial performance in the second quarter of 2025, reporting a profit after tax of ₦133 billion—a remarkable 352% increase from ₦29.35 billion in the same period the previous year.

The presidency attributes this achievement to the company’s strategic initiatives, including the introduction of innovative products and operational excellence. Lolu Alade-Akinyemi, CEO of Lafarge Africa, highlighted that the strong performance is a result of the company’s focus on innovation and green growth, despite a challenging business environment.

Lafarge Africa’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its launch of eco-friendly products such as ECOPlanet cement and Calcined Clay, which have significantly reduced the company’s carbon footprint.

The presidency’s recognition underscores the importance of private sector contributions to Nigeria’s economic development, particularly in the construction and manufacturing industries. Lafarge Africa’s performance serves as a testament to the potential of strategic planning and innovation in driving economic growth.
